My Fashionista, Part II

Turtle has always been particular about her outfits. . Ever since she could indicate what she wanted to wear she has been selecting her wardrobe with great care .  This summer I am watching her pickyness opinions develop as she becomes even more aware of this area of attire. She consistently notices and compliments adult women on their clothes. She wistfully "loooves" some of my clothes and comments that she will wear them when she grows up. She loves to pick out Sunshine's clothes, often wanting them to "be matchy" with her own --e.g. both wearing a buttoned blouse, both polka-dotted, both jean jumpers. She tries to wheedle Rosebud into this or that outfit of her choosing, saying "Oooh, I LOVE this one, it's SO cute!" Her favorite dresses and tops are any shoulder and back-baring strappy ones -- and she'll object to wearing the obligatory sweater over them in Church. A Quick Takes post on a beautiful evening:  #1.  For your listening pleasure while reading this post -- I love this summer song! #2.  My husband is making these lemon ricotta fritters for brunch tomorrow! photo from cookingchanneltv.com Yeah, he's so awesome. #3 .  Turtle caught a chipmunk with her bare hands the other day.  Her squealing in delight quickly turned into shrieking as the little thing bit down on her finger.  She shook it off in terror, and it gave an indignant squeak and raced away.   Mommy and Daddy were stifling laughter and remembering Turtle's reputation for picking up animals that bite her .   Turtle's skin was barely broken but she was very enraged and expressed dislike of chipmunks everywhere and desire to kill the poor cute little animal.  But she has slowly grown proud of her feat as we repeat the story to everyone we see. :) photo from fox.com/bones #4.   Season 6 of my favorite show ...

Our yard has also been full of forget-me-nots, tiny white and yellow wildflowers and the occasional buttercup and dandelion.  We also have a dogwood tree, vinca and iris plants and lily of the valley. For a week or two the girls spent much time picking and arranging...
