Lord, That I May See

Rosebud:  I wish we lived in Wisconsin with logs on our house [like Laura Ingalls Wilder] because there's alot of snow there. Turtle:  But I wish there could be snow when it was warm, because Daddy doesn't like mosquitoes and mosquitoes don't like snow! Me: Ah, so if we had snow when it was warm then we would have no mosquitoes and Daddy would be happy?  That's a good idea! Turtle:  Yes!  But God does it different.  And we don't choose, GOD chooses.

I am thinking . . .  of the many, many things I am thankful for.  The girls and I made these thankful booklets from instructions in Family Fun magazine .  They chose to draw things like pie and blueberries, kittens and baby's faces, flowers and zig-zags.  And again, as my children have shown me nearly every day, I am reminded to awaken to the joy in the many, many little things that we never think to thank Him for.  How often I need reminding!   Thank you, Lord, for polka dots! I am thankful... in my own "thankful booklet" in my head today for --the warming promise of a big pile of firewood --sunsets at my parent's farm --Sunshine asking for a "pup" of water -- this story written by Turtle --Advent coming --my sisters --Rosebud "playing Body of Christ" dressed up in a Blessed Moth...

(as Turtle calls it) Our balcony overlooked the ocean. We visited an old Spanish Castle And tried to keep children from falling over the ramparts. The girls rode a carousel that played old Disney songs. We visited an Alligator Farm It was like a mini-zoo -- there were many other kinds of animals and birds too. Feeding Time The Beach was windy and chilly Some people didn't seem to mind I could see the full moon on the ocean while laying in bed.  It was beautiful! We visited downtown St. Augustine, the oldest city in America. Sunshine wanted to swim in the fountain there. Shore exploration It was fun trip.  D.'s grandparents got to meet Sunshine and Rosebud for the first time and we spent alot of time with family.  It was nice to grab a bit more sunshine and warmth before starting winter.
