"Family Walk to the Bridges"

Image
We have been promising the girls that we would take one last walk to a favorite place of ours .  Mommy & Daddy have both been very stressed and busy, so this walk was very refreshing and special for all of us. These days are precious days.  We are thankful for all God's many blessings on our family and look forward to many more wonderful days and blessings to come.

Evening at the Park

With only 5 days left till moving day, we are trying to enjoy all of the places we have grown to love around this home of ours.  Moving always accentuates for me the fact that everything is fleeting.  This time, this chapter of our lives, so very sweet and precious, is passing away.  New things are coming, the girls are growing and changing and nothing stays the same.  Each of these last days in this home have been increasingly bittersweet.  "I expect to pass through this world but once.  Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now.  Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again." ~ Stephen Grellet

Ode to My Ergo

Dear Ergo, Thank you for being what makes me happy on shopping days, the only thing that makes it possible for poor me in the grocery store at lunchtime with three girls. When Rosebud cries, throws food on the floor bites a tomato begs for granola, jellybeans, anything, I think of you strong and securely holding baby on my back out of the way of the tantrum. When Turtle darts here and there suggesting avacodos, oh mangos! oh juice! and yogurt! and cookies! When banana chips whined about and purchased are rejected pronounced yucky, I think of you, holding my baby on my back out of the way of the frustration. When every flower must be smelled, When huge watermelons must be lifted, When women and old men sigh in exasperation at my darting child 20 times oblivious to anybody's way of passage, I think of you and I am oh so glad because things could be so much worse. You take one of my girls, one load of precious cargo, wrap he...

Makes Me Smile

I was watching this wazzup spoof   with Rosebud tonight.   (Does anyone recognize some of these kids? :) And the original , to help appreciate the spoof. (Sorry, I can't imbed for some reason.)

Summer Thunderstorm

Photo Credit Having kids has spoiled the pleasure I used to take in alot of little things. It has spoiled swimming -- who can swim when they've kids to keep from drowing? It has spoiled jewelry.  I usually skip it now because it gets tugged or bitten and I get pinched or choked. It has spoiled fingernail polish.  I have no time to sit and let it dry  (plus I've got too many dishes to do). It has spoiled showers.  I either have a little person under my feet crying about soap in her eyes or I'm rushing through my shower hoping the movie won't be over yet. It has spoiled paying attention at Mass It has spoiled sleeping. (I could go on and on . . .: ) It has spoiled thunderstorms too. I love summer thunderstorms.  I love the crackle in the air, the fresh, wild smell.  I love the cosy feeling of my house, the powerful rolling of the thunderclaps outside.  As a teenager, when the thunderclouds would be moving away, I would run o...

Seven Quick Takes, Vol 8

Image
1.  Happily and thankfully, we now have a house to move to.  We have exactly one month left till we can move in.  We are relieved and grateful to have found someone willing to rent to a self-employed owner of a construction company -- which apparently is a liability not negated by our good credit. :P We are also thankful for the house's good location, its large backyard See? :) and its lower than average rent.  There are some cons to the situation, as there are to any, but we are blessed and staying (hopefully! :)optimistic. 2.  Annnnd, I have packed only about 12 boxes so far . . .  today I tried packing the coat closet during Sunshine's morning nap.  That ultimately turned into a "let's obsess about the packing tape" and "lets fight over which color coat hanger we get to put into the box" session that woke up the baby.   I gave up 2/3 of the way through the dinky little closet. *Sigh*  This is gonna b...
