Home Again
We are home now, welcomed by the magnolias once again. Turtle and I are both a little sad to be home from our lovely vacation, but Rosebud is very happy to see her own bed again!
and some people even got buried.
Some of us got very very VERY excited about the ocean
and others were a bit more cautious
The cautious one sometimes got stressed out by the fearless one and tried to supervise her ocean activity.

There were sunburns
On our trip, there was alot of castle building,
beach bumming,
and the wearing of cute sunglasses and hats.
There were sunburns
Rosebud often tried to drown herself
and was often only deterred from this endeavor by the thrilling "kid-sized shower" that she could operate on her own.
She was so traumatized by every sunscreen application process that she often took matters into her own hands, (and mouth, mostly) in the daily "wrangling" of the slippery baby.
The Aquarium was a big hit on a rainy day.

The plastic alligator was especially thrilling, after Turtle was reassured that it wasn't real.
And the box turtles were so interesting that Mommy was concerned about a re-run of last year's painted turtle episode ("No, honey, Mommy knows. This kind of turtle does bite like the other kind.")

Rosebud almost went swimming in the horseshoe crab and sting ray tank.
And Daddy was delighted by the seven foot sand tiger sharks, and their teeth.
New friendships were formed

and family ties strengthened
When Turtle was asked what her favorite part of the beach was, she replied, "A lot of people." Well said by my social butterfly. We will miss seeing many of them until next year.

I hope we have many more years of this family vacation so that my children will grow to mark the passing years by those long, happy, sun-filled days as I have always done.
