This Past Month

We went through the stressful ordeal of packing and moving, and are now settling in -- slowly, but hopefully surely. :)

We vacationed at the beach with my family for two weeks. Activities included: fun in the sun, family games, family rosaries, fishing, boogie boarding, seafood-eating, volleyball, basketball, X-box, foozball, pool, guitar music, shell collecting, kite flying, kayaking, ice cream eating, irish dancing, satelite viewings, Indiana Jones viewings, tapas night, etc, etc. -- hey, even a little family "drama, drama" as my husband says with rolling eyes :)

We went to the zoo and saw tigers, "grillas", "eletint taking a baf", "turtules" and "panna mears"-- a big hit and a lovely day, marred only by the forgetting of the camera.

We celebrated our third wedding anniversary -- with dinner and The Incredible Hulk (the former was a lovely treat and the latter, well, not so much for me :S . . . )

I turned 25.

Turtle has learned now to climb out of a crib, and so has moved to a toddler bed.

She has also become proficent at clambering up and down from the big-peoples' toilet so we have said goodbye to the little potty.

Turtle has discovered that she LOVES the beach, the pool, ice cream, basketball and marbles. (I should have listed ICE CREAM as the FIRST on the list -- we had it every night at the beach!)

Rosebud as learned how to crawl, sit up, and pull herself up to standing, in that order all within the past two weeks. (Where is my little baby gone??? She's not even 6 mos old yet!). Oh, and next up -- swift progress is being made --- in "wrecking" things and picking up tiny objects from the floor.
Sigh.
The girls are now sleeping in the same room , which they find SO much fun that we have to seriously stagger the bed and nap times or they will literally play for hours in there. So cute!
Daddy is no longer commuting, and is thrilled about that . . . that and his new Blackberry, which is supposed to help him work more efficiently, but definitely (in my mind) a "crack-berry" as my brother in law calls it. :)
Mommy is homesick and a little sad, feeling uprooted and adrift, like a country mouse in the city and not wanting to change. But, she is trying very hard to hope the silver lining to all the clouds shows up soon. God has a plan, of course!

Oh, and last but not least! The topic of recurring conversation between Turtle and I this month:
Turtle got her nose bit by this big, sharp-beaked turtle, who was simply defending himself from curious little girls, but will now go down in history as "naughty, naughty turtule bite my nose!" Mommy still gets the willies at the thought of Turtle's whole soft little nose being bit completely off by the enormously strong clenching jars of such a animal, but fortunately, though there was alot of blood and crying, the turtle didn't get a full bite, but only nipped the end. Thank goodness!!
But now she really is "Turtle", now, isn't she??

So many milestones! I'm so happy you're close! Mike will be pleased that you have quoted him....hehe. It is definitely a crackberry. Does it accompany you to bed yet? It's worse than cosleeping with a baby!

OMG! That is so scary about the turtle! I would freak out (and of course end up being reminded by James that you aren't suppossed to show kids your fear - it will scare them more... :)

Can't wait to see you! Tried calling a few days ago, but got voicemail. Will try again soon :)
